LZACC Digital Media Specialist Job Overview

Title: Digital Media Specialist

Reports to: Executive Director

Est. Hours:   20 hours/week; Monday – Thursday 10 am – 3 pm; additional hours may be needed for 3-4 annual events that land on weekends or after business hours

Hourly: commensurate with experience

Essential Job Functions

  • Designs and implements digital media campaigns and content that align with the goals and initiatives defined in our strategic plan and annual planning guide from start to finish
  • Drafts and distributes all email communication
    • Weekly emails
    • Shared & Exclusive weekly emails
    • Additional emails as suitable to further promote Chamber events and initiatives
  • Enhances online presence and boosts brand awareness
  • Maintains a strong online company voice through social media
  • Updates the Chamber’s website as needed
  • Attends events to capture video and photos as well as helps manage on-site coordination along with the Chamber team
  • Prepares press releases for events and distributes to media, including submitting event photos to press
  • Participates, as needed, in Chamber committee meetings
  • Assist with year-end planning: event calendars, member planning guide, annual documents, etc.
  • Suggests and implements marketing methods to increase profitability
  • Stays up-to-date with digital media developments
  • Performs other duties as requested by Executive Director

Required Abilities

Required Abilities:

  • Proven digital media work experience 
  • Knowledge of graphic design programs (Adobe Creative Suite), video editing and general office software
  • Experience with visual communication principles
  • Familiarity with WordPress
  • Outstanding analytical and project management skills
  • Must be able to multitask and work under tight deadlines
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Must work effectively with volunteers, members and the general public
  • Able to occasionally work early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed for events
  • Requires light to moderate lifting and transportation to and from events/meetings
