Attention franchise-type business owners!

Attention franchise-type business owners and businesses that have third-party staffing support to provide workers:

A federal judge has blocked a National Labor Relations Board rule that was supposed to go into effect this month.

Essentially, the proposed rule would allow all the workers from across franchise locations to unionize together if the rule had gone into effect, amongst other things.

Employers might feel like they have dodged a bullet here, but again – there is a chance this rule could be resurrected again by the end of this year. If you’ve had your head buried in the sand up until now, you may want to use this reprieve to tighten up some business practices and minimize the chances of legal exposure.
